Ganesh Chaturthi Date (Aarambh Date-Samapan Date):


This year Ganesh Chaturthi is on 22nd August, Saturday. On this day, the idol of Lord Ganesha will be placed in every house and the next day Lord Ganesha will be worshiped.

After worshiping Ganpati for 10 days, Ganapati Bappa will be immersed on Tuesday, September 01st. That day is Anant Chaturdashi.


How should one worship on Ganesh Chaturthi:


If you want to bring Bappa to your home on Ganesh Chaturthi, then take a bath in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning, and bring the idol of Ganesh Ji with music.

One should not see the moon on this day. Place the idol of Ganesh Ji by putting a pedestal on a post, along with putting betel nut in a Kalash and tie it in a blank (new) cloth.

After placing Lord Ganesha, worship him along with the whole family. Offer Vermilion and Durva. Offer laddus or Modak to Lord Ganesha. After that, distribute the laddus as prasad.

From the day of Ganesh Chaturthi to the day of immersion, worship Lord Ganesha both in the morning and in the evening. Read or listen to the story of Ganesha, read Ganesha Chalisa. After the pooja, sing Ganesh Ji's Aarti at the end of the day.

Chaturthi Tithi will start at 11:02 pm on August 21 and Chaturthi Tithi will end on August 22 at 07:57 pm.

Ganesh placement from Morning Bramham Muhurat to 7:44am. Ganesh placement can be done from 11:42 am to 2:00 pm in the day and from 5:07 pm to 7:27 pm in the evening.

Ganesha was born during the day, so on Chaturthi, he is worshiped during the day, worship Ganesha between 11: 06 am to 1: 42pm.

It has been emphasized in the guidelines that the maximum height of the statue of Lord Ganesha will be. The statue, which will be kept in public places, will have a height of 4 feet while in homes it is to be kept up to 2 feet.

The guidelines issued by the government are:-


1) All the Ganesh Mandals have to get permission from the Municipal Corporation and the local administration before the Puja.

2) because of the corona infection, a limited number of pandals (pavilions) will be made following the orders of the court and the corporation. Pooja will be performed simply, at least among the grand decorations.

3) The height of the statue to be kept in public places will be 4 feet while in houses it will have a maximum height of 2 feet.

4) Metal, emphasis on marble sculptures. Statues should be environment friendly and immerse in the house. If it is not possible in the house, then immerse yourself in a built place near the house. This year it can also be banned and next year immersion work can be done in Bhadrapada.

5) Donation of puja can be done at will. There should be an advertisement, but it should not have the appeal to mobilize the people. Whatever ads are given, they can be focused on health and social messages.

6) Health-related activities can be done during Puja instead of cultural programs. For example, blood donation camps should be organized or awareness campaigns should be conducted on ways to avoid diseases of corona, malaria, dengue.

7) During the Aarti, Kirtan, and other religious programs, there should be no gathering of people and the rules of social distance should not be violated. Full attention will also have to be given to noise pollution.

8) Arrangements should be made online for darshan of Lord Ganesha, for which mediums like cable network and Facebook can be taken.

9) Sanitization of Ganpati Pavilion should continue and thermal screening should also be arranged. Devotees will need to apply masks and follow social distancing. There should also be a sanitizer in the pavilions.

10) There will be no procession for the arrival and immersion of Lord Ganesha. The aarti performed at the place of immersion will be done at home and the immersion site will be closed in a short time. Children and the elderly will not go to the immersion site. Many idols will not be taken out simultaneously for immersion.

11) With the help of the Municipal Corporation, separate boards, housing societies, public representatives, and NGOs, artificial lakes should be built in which the program of idol immersion is done.
