The Stories of Baisakhi Festival:
There are many stories about this festival we are sharing with you two major stories here:
The First Story:
In the year 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Guru of Sikhs, invited all Sikhs. On receiving the Guru's orders, people who follow all religions started gathering in the Anand Pur Sahib Maidan.
Here a desire arose in Guru's mind to test his disciples. The Guru took out his sword from the command and said, that I want ahead, on hearing such words of the Guru, all the devotees got into amazement, but meanwhile, Dayaram, who lives in Lahore, serves his head in the Guru's shelter.
Guru Gobind Singh then came out again and showed his sword, saying, I want ahead. This time Dharmadas of Saharanpur came forward. He was also taken in by the Guru, and then a stream of blood was seen flowing.
Similarly, three others, Jagannath resident Himmat Rai, Dwarka resident Mohammad Chand, and Bidar resident Sahib Chand, offered their heads to the Guru's shelter.
The Guru told the people to present there that the animal has been burnt in place of these 5 people, I was taking the test of these people, and these people have succeeded in their examination.
The Guru instructed his disciples that they should not raise their hands on weak people. After this incident, Guru Gobind Rai, be called by the name Guru Gobind Singh. And The word Sih was also associated with the name of Sikhs, and this day also became special.
The Second Story:
The second story that relates to this festival is from the time of Pandavas of Mahabharata. It is said that when the Pandavas reached Katraj Tal in Punjab at the time of their exile, they felt thirsty for a big swing.
Leaving Yudhishthira to quench his thirst, the brothers came to the lake where they were drinking water. Even after refusing the Yaksha, as a result, all four died.
When Yudhisthira also reached near the pond and proceeded to drink water, the Yaksha came again and started asking Yudhishthira to answer his questions first, and after that only, he can drink water.
Then Yudhishthira prayed to revive his stepbrother Sahadeva. The Yaksha asked with surprise that instead of asked his real brother's life, why did he ask to revive his stepbrother.
Then Yudhishthira said in reply that, instead of 2 sons of Mata Kunti's alive, it would be better to have a son of Mother Madri also alive, Yaksha was pleased with Yudhishthira's wise talk, and he gave life to his four brothers also.
